_______1. You have at least 10 Note Cards. Each Note Card is numbered (the “title” in Noodle Tools).

_______2. Each of your Note Cards contains only ONE piece of information.

_______3. Each Note Card contains the direct quote enclosed in quotation marks. You used brackets [ ]
when you added words into the quote, and you used ellipses points ….when you deleted words from the
quote. Direct quotes w/out quotation marks are PLAGIARISM!!

_______4. Quotes within a quote are enclosed in single quotation marks.

_______5. Each Note Card contains a paraphrase in your own words that is SIGNIFICANTLY
different from the direct quote. Do NOT “borrow” phrasing and sentence structure. Do NOT merely
insert synonyms. Avoid unintentional plagiarism.

_______6. Paraphrases and information are long enough to fill-up four typed pages.

_______5. Each Note Card contains the page number where you got the information (if applicable).

_______7. Each Note Card has a TAG (or a TAG plus subtags) to help you organize your outline.
Your TAGS serve to organize and classify your arguments. Please HIGHLIGHT each TAG.

_______8. You do NOT have 10 different TAGS; you have several Note Cards with the same TAG.

_______10. The information on your Note Cards DIRECTLY supports your thesis. (Unless you explain
that you are using it in an Introduction).

_______11. Your last page is your tentative Works Cited in correct format and numbered correctly.

_______12. Your tentative Works Cited contains at least five different sources.

_______13. Your tentative Works Cited contains at least ONE print source (a book) and at least ONE
database source, unless you have cleared this with me.

_______14. Any source listed on your tentative Works Cited has been used for at least one Note Card.
Conversely, each of your Note Cards must coincide with a source listed on your tentative Works Cited.

_______15. Every page of your assignment contains the Lastname page# header.

_______16. Your thesis is ONE sentence. Your thesis and your TAGS mirror each other.
