successful 1990s bands such as X and Y. He had many more, but X and Y
were his most successful.
●In 2006, he was accused of running one of the largest and longest-
running Ponzi schemes in US history, leaving more than $300 million in debts.
●Pearlman used the high-profile success of his bands to lure investors, many of
them retirees, to put their hard-earned money into his other businesses, which
he said were all housed within his corporation named TransContinental.
●X is the first group since Led Zeppelin to have their first ten albums reach the
top 10 on the Billboard 200.
●Y last recorded new material in 2002. The five members have reunited a
couple of times for tours and award shows.
●One of the members of Y went on to become a ten-time Grammy Award
winner throughout his solo career and has also acted in several Hollywood

● The game's ending was so unexpected that UEFA President Lennart Johansson had
already left his seat in the stands to make his way down to the pitch to present the
trophy, already decorated with one team’s ribbons.
● It is a long way down from the executive seats at Camp Nou. As the scoreboard ticked
over to 90 minutes, Johannson began to make his way down to present the UEFA
Champions League trophy, heading to the lift that would take him pitch side.
● Thirty seconds had passed as the Swede completed his journey into the bowels of the

intestines of the Catalan complex, before emerging to a perplexing scene.

supermarkets across India. While it was common for brands to change
their packaging for certain events or occasions, the idea of changing the
colour of the product itself was considered bold.
●First launched in the US in 2002, X was strategically marketed in India
during the 2003 tournament as a gesture of support to the country’s cricket
team
●This was a markedly different strategy than the one employed in the West,
where the product was launched to respond to their biggest rival’s new

● Toru Iwatani was one of the free-thinking employees who worked at Namco in
the 1980s. Tasked with designing a new cabinet game, Iwatani reflected on
what existing games already offered, as well as who played them—all in hopes
of creating something completely new.
● During the late 1970s and early 1980s, video games were associated with
male-dominated spaces in both Japan and the U.S.
● “This perception of arcades as dude hangouts was similar in Japan,” Iwatani
told Time in 2015. “I wanted to change that by introducing game machines in
which cute characters appeared with simpler controls that would not be
intimidating to female customers and couples to try out.”
● Iwatani also loved shōjo manga and anime—animated stories written primarily
for young women.
● At some point during this period of ideation, Iwatani wandered to a restaurant
during his lunch break. Hungry that day, he ordered an entire pizza. While
eating a slice, he was struck by sudden inspiration for this new game that
revolutionized the video game industry.
