North Macedonia has been a member of the GLOBE program since 1998. It currently has 28 schools participating, including 15 secondary and 13 primary schools. While the GLOBE program has faced some challenges in North Macedonia including a lack of yearly workshops, funding, and support from the Ministry of Education, it also brings benefits. Teachers have used GLOBE data in other international projects. Events like Earth Day are celebrated and GLOBE protocols are incorporated into regular classes, though implementation is sometimes sporadic. Recent efforts include translating the phenology app into the Macedonian language and running educational activities on the atmosphere for young students. The program also aims to engage the community and make science more attractive and interesting for students.
