The Northern Renaissance was a period of great cultural and intellectual change in Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. This movement spread outside of Italy, affecting countries like Germany, France, England and the Low Countries. Artists and scholars in these regions developed new techniques and ideas based on classical sources and emerging values of individualism and humanism.
