NOFFKE, HOLDSWORTH ADDED TO MASTERS SQUAD FOR T20 CLASH
Pacemen Ashley Noffke and Wayne Holdsworth have been added to the squad of former
cricket greats to play in Naracoorte as part of the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA)
Masters match on Sunday 1 December at Wortley Oval from 1.00pm.
The duo replaces former Australian off-spinner Jason Krejza, who was unable to secure a
replacement player to release him from Sydney Grade cricket commitments.
Noffke took 386 first-class wickets at 29.41 in 118 first-class appearances with Queensland,
Western Australia, Middlesex, Worcestershire and Durham, and also posted two hundreds.
The right-armer played one ODI and two International T20s for Australia and toured England
and the Caribbean with the Test squad. His most prolific season was 2007-08 when he took
51 first-class wickets and made 741 runs for the Bulls, becoming the third Australian behind
George Giffen and Greg Matthews to capture the 50-wicket, 500-run season double.
New South Wales quick Wayne Holdsworth took a wicket with his opening delivery in firstclass cricket. He was a member of title-winning Blues teams in three Sheffield Shield and
three Domestic One Day campaigns.
2. A member of the 1993 Ashes squad, Holdsworth played 12 games for Australia and took a
hat-trick against Derbyshire.
The Tour is supported by the Naracoorte Lucindale Council and Naracoorte Cricket Club.
The tour will also include an in2CRICKET coaching clinic for primary school children on the
Sunday morning and a sportsman’s function on the Saturday night before the match. This
event promises to be highly entertaining with the legends telling tales, tall and true, from
across their careers, as well as providing their insights and opinions on the current Australian
team and the Ashes series.
To be held in a marquee at Wortley Oval, tickets cost $50, which includes entry, a meal and
the chance to bid for sporting memorabilia and other items in an auction, and are available
from Scott Petroleum, Naracoorte Herald, Limestone Coast Lighting, Elders Naracoorte,
Tender Cuts and Naracoorte Lucindale Council.
