Talking about future of NodeJS, from Node 7 to Node 10.
NPM 5. N-API, async_hooks, util.promisify().
A big part on the ESM vs CommonJS module loader, and all the problem NodeJS is facing to implement ESM.
The next generation JavaScript doesn't need to dependent on browser, that's just like other programming language. Node.js is it, no need browser, based on fastest V8 JavaScript Engine and provides many APIs for system integration. It can be used to server-side and system, even more purpose.

Splitting your source code into separate modules and importing them into the current namespace is the standard way of coding for the backend. Until recently this has not been possible in the frontend because of the time it would have taken to synchronously load all required assets.
Tools like Webpack and JSPM allow exactly that and much more. This talk is going to give you an overview over the two and show why you should stop putting everything into the global namespace.
NPM is a package manager for the JavaScript programming language. It is the default package manager for the JavaScript runtime environment Node.js. It consists of a command line client, also called npm, and an online database of public and paid-for private packages, called the npm registry.

Grunt helps front-end web developers automate common tasks such as: linting, testing, sass compilation, watching assets. Check basic features of node.js, npm and Grunt.
4-year chronicles of ALLSTOCKER (a trading platform for used construction equipment and machinery). We describe how the system has evolved incrementally using Pharo smalltalk.
An absolute beginners guide to node.js . Done for a presentation at college. The presentation contains data from various sources ,sources are noted at the end slide. please inform me any mistakes ,since at that time i was in a bit of hurry :)

You can enjoy desktop development with Node.js and HTML5/CSS/WebGL right now. Here we also to announce that Stem project which is a JavaScript operating system, it makes developers be able to make things on embedded system with JavaScript only. There is no need to understand that difficult knowledge about embedded system when you work on Stem OS.
The Node.js movement has transformed the landscape of UI development. In this session we'll look at how Node.js can be leveraged on multiple layers of the web application development lifecycle. Attendees will learn how incorporating Node.js into your front-end build process can optimize code, allow you to use use new and upcoming JavaScript features in your code today, and to improve your asset delivery pipeline. This session will also cover how Node is changing the template rendering landscape, allowing developers to write "isomorphic" code that runs on the client and server. Lastly we'll look into using Node to achieve developer zen by keeping the codebase clean and limiting the risk of changes to the code causing unknown errors.
This presentation provides a brief overview on becoming a member of the Node.js Foundation. For more information, visit https://nodejs.org/en/foundation/members/.
The Node.js Foundation has consolidated all the best thinking around why enterprises should consider Node.js for their systems of engagement in this short presentation.
