This document discusses prophecies from the book of Jeremiah concerning Elam and Babylon. It summarizes Jeremiah's prophecies of judgment against Elam, including destroying their military strength, scattering their people, and setting God's throne in Elam. It suggests these prophecies relate to modern day Iran. The document also discusses Jeremiah's prophecies of Babylon's destruction and desolation, noting these have yet to be fully fulfilled. It proposes Babylon may rise again to play an end-times role before its final destruction as described in Revelation.
The document discusses two prophecies from Jeremiah and Ezekiel concerning Elam, an ancient kingdom located in what is now part of Iran. Jeremiah prophesied that Elam's might would be broken and its people scattered and exiled. However, Jeremiah also said God would restore Elam's fortunes. Ezekiel also mentioned Elam being defeated. One interpretation is that Jeremiah's prophecy concerns a future disaster in Iran prior to the events in Ezekiel 38. The document analyzes how these ancient prophecies could relate to current geopolitical tensions with Iran over its nuclear program.
Looks at how the last two chapters of the Book of Daniel fit in with the end times chronology of the New Testament in the Book of Revelation and Synoptic Gospels.
The document provides an introduction to the book of Jeremiah and the prophet Jeremiah. It discusses the context, timeline, and key events of Jeremiah's ministry. Jeremiah prophesied during a period of political instability in Judah, witnessing the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BC. As a centralist prophet, Jeremiah received his call directly from God and faithfully delivered messages of judgment, though he also offered a message of hope if the people returned to God. The document examines Jeremiah's life and theology through analysis of passages in the book of Jeremiah.
The document summarizes key events happening around the world that point to the end times, including conflicts between Israel/Hamas, ISIS violence in Iraq, the Russian/Ukrainian crisis, and instability in the global financial system. It warns that we are approaching a dark, critical age and that war, violence, turmoil and disasters will continue as long as human kingdoms rule the earth. The only solution is for God to establish His eternal kingdom as prophesied in Daniel.
The document summarizes Jeremiah 1:1-19, which describes God calling Jeremiah to be a prophet. It discusses:
1) God calling Jeremiah to be a prophet before he was born and appointing him over nations (verses 4-5, 10).
2) Jeremiah objecting that he is too young, but God reassuring him and touching his mouth to put his words in Jeremiah (verses 6-8).
3) God using signs of an almond branch and boiling pot to confirm Jeremiah's calling as a prophet (verses 11-14).
4) God empowering Jeremiah as a fortified city against his opponents (verses 17-19).

- The document discusses the biblical prophecies about Islam and terrorists in the book of Revelation.
- It describes how the last 3 trumpets mentioned in Revelation 8-11 are called "woe trumpets" and will bring even more terrible events than the first 4, including the introduction of a "religion of darkness."
- It suggests that this "religion of darkness" is Islam, which emerged from the deserts ("smoke") under the leadership of Muhammad, who it says was symbolized as a "fallen star" who was given authority over the "bottomless pit."
The document provides an overview of the Book of Jeremiah in the Bible. It summarizes that Jeremiah prophesied to Israel around 600 BC, warning of coming judgment for their sins but also providing hope of restoration. Unlike Isaiah, Jeremiah's tone was mild and expressed God's sorrow over Israel's actions. The document outlines the key themes and events in Jeremiah's prophecies and ministry.
Jeremiah lived in difficult times as the prophet of God, struggling to deliver messages of repentance to Judah. He faced struggles with a faithless world as his warnings went unheeded, struggles with his difficult task as a prophet, and struggles with an uncertain future as Babylon destroyed Jerusalem. Despite these struggles, Jeremiah remained faithful to God and his calling.
The document provides a brief history of Bani Israel from Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to the golden era of Prophet Sulaiman (AS). It discusses how Bani Israel originated from the descendants of Prophet Yaqoob (AS) and his 12 sons. It then outlines the story of Prophet Yusuf (AS) and how Bani Israel settled and later became enslaved in Egypt. It describes their exodus from Egypt under Prophet Musa (AS) and wandering in Sinai, followed by entering Palestine under Prophet Yusha (AS). It concludes with discussing prominent prophets like Dawood (AS) and Sulaiman (AS) and the golden era during their
1) The document discusses the author's claim to be the vicegerent of Prophet Muhammad based on a verse in the Quran and his experience of enthronement in 1978 in a dream vision.
2) It provides details of the dream vision ceremony and warns that all Muslims must pray five times daily or risk going to hell.
3) It aims to warn Christians and Jews that unless they convert to Islam, they will go to hell based on a sworn statement Allah made to the author in 2013 also in a dream vision.
The document compares the Quran and the Bible, highlighting several key differences:
- The Bible was written by 40 authors over 1500 years in 3 languages on 3 continents, while the Quran was written by one author in one language and place over 23 years.
- The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies fulfilled by Jesus Christ, while the Quran contains no prophecies or miracles.
- Christianity is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ whose tomb was found empty, while Islam's founder Muhammad is buried in Medina.
- The Quran has changed over time in aspects like the direction of prayer and times of prayer, and early versions were destroyed, while the Bible has remained consistent.

Journey Through the Bible: Jeremiah - The Rejected ProphetResurrection Church
Jeremiah was called by God to tell the people of Jerusalem that the city and the Temple would be destroyed by the Babylonians and the people taken into exile. All this was to happen because of the nations continued rebellion against God. At first the people laughed at him but when the prophecies started coming true they turned against him and tried to kill the messenger.
The document discusses the significance of Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) in Islam. It states that Jibreel is the greatest of all angels and was responsible for communicating Allah's messages to prophets like Muhammad. The document describes key events involving Jibreel, including the first revelation to Muhammad in the Cave of Hira and accompanying Muhammad on the Night Journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and ascent to heaven.
In this sermon we look closely at the history of Israel as a people and nation, the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, as well as what the Scriptures foretell will happen to them in the future. We also discuss the role of the Kingdom, Israel and the Church and how these are related.

The document provides background information on the prophet Jeremiah. It discusses that Jeremiah was called by God to be a prophet to the nations even before he was born. As a young man, Jeremiah felt unworthy for the role of prophet but God assured him He would equip and protect him. God used visions of an almond tree branch and a boiling pot to give Jeremiah his first prophecies about coming judgment from Babylon. Jeremiah faithfully delivered his warnings for decades despite facing rejection from the people he was trying to help and suffering imprisonment.
1) Daniel has a vision of a two-horned ram being attacked and defeated by a goat with a prominent horn between its eyes.
2) The goat's large horn is broken off and replaced by four prominent horns. Another small horn grows and becomes very powerful, threatening heavenly beings.
3) The vision is explained to Daniel - the ram represents the kings of Media and Persia, while the goat is the king of Greece. The small horn represents a future wicked king who will prosper for a time but will ultimately be destroyed.
ONLY GOD BRINGS THE DESTRUCTION OF THE PANDEMIC OF THE COVID-19huldahministry
Today, many Torah-believing Jews and Bible-believing Christians believe that the final series of events which would culminate in the arrival of the Messiah has already begun. I believe that the current coronavirus pandemic is one of these events ...
Bible prophecy tells us that the time is coming when the world will be united under an incredibly intelligent, charismatic, powerful, evil man. And it states that the Antichrist’s coming will be according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders. The antichrist will exalt himself above all that is worshiped or called God and he will force everyone to take a mark (called the mark of the beast) or they will be killed. The bible gives a stern warning and demands that no one is to take this mark.
This document discusses prophecies from the Book of Numbers regarding Israel and neighboring nations. It summarizes Balaam's prophecies that foretell Israel's rise and the downfall of hostile nations like Moab, Edom, and Amalek. It notes that the Kenites were treated differently and promised land by Moses. It suggests recent events involving the Druze people, who are traditionally descended from Jethro, fulfilling their role in end-times battles alongside Jews against Amalek, as predicted in the Bible. The document also provides an update on support sent to a ministry in the Philippines for farming, children's programs, and training.
This document provides an overview of end times events according to biblical prophecy, including the rise of the Antichrist and characteristics of his global government. It discusses technological advances that may enable implementation of the "mark of the beast" and worldwide surveillance. The document suggests current trends towards globalization as preliminary steps towards a one world government that will be led by the Antichrist during the tribulation period.
The Antichrist And His Kingdom
Daniel 7: 7 And behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. 23 The fourth beast shall be: a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces. Daniel 8: 23 ...When the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. Rev. 13: 4 And they worshipped the beast (Antichrist), saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 7 ... And power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him.

great tribulation, the fall of Babylon America
The greatest and darkest event in human history is coming.
This document discusses biblical prophecies about the rise and fall of four empires and suggests that these prophecies point to the Antichrist emerging from a revived Roman Empire in Western Europe. It presents evidence that the European Union fits the description of this end-times empire and that Javier Solana, a former EU official, fulfills prophecies about the Antichrist figure. Key events discussed include the formation of the Western European Union by 10 countries in 1995, Solana's rise to power in 1999-2006 where he "humbled three kings", and the EU taking over the WEU's military functions in 1999. The document argues this shows prophecies about the Antichrist coming from a 10-nation alliance in Europe

- The document discusses how the Bible prophesied the rise of Islam in the book of Revelation.
- It describes how the last 3 trumpets (woe trumpets) would bring attacks on the eastern Roman Empire, leading to its destruction, marking the introduction of a "new religion of darkness."
- It argues that this new religion was Islam, which emerged from the deserts under the leadership of Muhammad in the 7th century AD, darkening the light of the gospel message across the Middle East and North Africa.
The document summarizes Daniel 10-12 and provides commentary on the prophecies regarding the rise of Papal Rome to power in the end times. It describes how France attacked the Papacy in 1798, fulfilling the prophecy of the "King of the South pushing at" the Papacy. It then discusses how the Papacy regained power in 1989 with the fall of the Soviet Union, fulfilling the prophecy of the "King of the North coming against [the King of the South] like a whirlwind." It predicts the Papacy will next overcome the separation of church and state in the US and national sovereignty worldwide to enact a global Sunday law, leading to the close of probation.
A verse by verse commentary on Jeremiah 31 dealing with the Lord declaring that Israel will be restored to His favor and live in the land with joy and success. They are to live in hope in spite of the judgment on their great evil.
Before the glorious messianic era, Israel must be regathered from their worldwide dispersion and settled in her promised land. Among the Jews, the remnant who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah will be restored in His millennium kingdom, where all believers in Christ will probably live forever...
The following articles show us how we are close to the time of fulfillment of these prophecies concerning Israel...
The document discusses different views on interpreting the judgments described in Revelation chapter 14. It presents four approaches: the historicist view sees the judgments as fulfilled in events related to the papacy from the French Revolution to the future. The preterist view sees them largely fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The futurist view sees them as future global judgments culminating in Armageddon. The spiritual view sees the judgments as recurring disasters in history that serve as warnings or final judgments depending on the individual. It then summarizes the content of Revelation chapter 14 in three parts concerning the 144,000 in heaven, warnings about worshipping the beast, and impending judgment on the earth.
The document discusses different views on interpreting the judgments described in Revelation chapter 14. It provides an overview of the historicist, preterist, futurist, and spiritual approaches. The spiritual view sees them as recurring disasters in history that can be warnings or final judgments, depending on the person. 1) The document discusses biblical prophecies from Genesis and Deuteronomy regarding a prophet that would come from the line of Ishmael and shine forth from Mount Paran with 10,000 saints.
2) It argues that these prophecies referred to the Prophet Muhammad, as Mount Paran refers to Mecca and Muhammad shone forth there with his early followers.
3) The document asserts that Christian scholars have tried to distort or conceal these prophecies that point to Muhammad, but the prophecies can only be fulfilled by the advent of the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

who seek their lives; I will bring disaster upon them,

of them. I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her

This is the word the LORD spoke through
Jeremiah the prophet concerning Babylon and the
land of the Babylonians:…Babylon will be captured;
Bell will be put to shame, Marduk filled with terror…
She will be the least of the nations―a wilderness,
a dry land, a desert. Because of the LORD’s anger she
will not be inhabited but will be completely desolate.
All who pass Babylon will be horrified and scoff
because of all her wounds…
“Flee from Babylon! Run for your lives! Do not be
destroyed because of her sins. It is time for the
LORD’s vengeance; he will pay her what she deserves.
Babylon was a gold cup in the LORD’s hand; she
made the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her
wine; therefore they have now gone mad. Babylon will

suddenly fall and be broken. Wail over her! Get balm for her pain; perhaps she can be healed...
“Come out of her, my people! Run for your lives! Run from the fierce anger of the
LORD……Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon
Babylon―all that had been recorded concerning Babylon. He said to Seraiah, “When you get
to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud. Then say, ‘O LORD, you have said you
will destroy this place, so that neither man nor animal will live in it; it will be desolate for
ever.’ When you finish reading this scroll, tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates.
Then say, ‘So will Babylon sink to rise no more because of the disaster I will bring upon her.
And her people will fall.’” JEREMIAH 50 & 51.
The prophecies concerning Elam and Babylon quoted above are ones that are regarded as not
yet fulfilled in its entirety. ‘Elam’, the land north-east of the lower Tigris Valley is today a part of
Iran (the northern end of the Persian Gulf), which was bordered with the ancient Babylonian
Empire. Prophet Jeremiah spoke a series of prophecies against the nations in this context,
beginning with Egypt and ending with Babylon. The Lord declared a severe judgment against
Elam, in that their military strength would be destroyed, the people would be driven off the land
and be scattered into the world, and He will set His throne there after sweeping away her king
and officials. Historically, Elam participated in many attacks on Jerusalem, assisting the
Babylonians at the fall of Jerusalem. Thus, Elam has been an enemy of Israel, and continues to be
so today, aiming to destroy Israel and capture Jerusalem. Iranian president Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad who provoked international condemnation in 2005 when he said that Israel should
be eliminated from the map of the Middle East and transferred to Europe or North America, again
on 25th
August this year declared that Iran was determined to eradicate Israel according to ISNA
news. It reported that Ahmadinejad had said in an interview with a Lebanese television network:
‘Iran believes that whoever is for humanity should also be for eradicating the Zionist regime
(Israel) as a symbol of suppression and discrimination.’ In the interview with the Al-Manar
network, he said: ‘Iran follows this issue (the eradication of Israel) with determination and
decisiveness and will never ever withdraw from this standpoint and policy’.
From September onwards this year, it has been speculated that Israel may launch a
preemptive strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities. In the beginning of November, Israel’s largest
newspaper “Yediot Ahronot” asserted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense
Minister Ehud Barak had already determined the necessity of a strike on Iran before it could build
a nuclear bomb. Western intelligence officials are said to believe that Iran may still be two years
away from fielding operational warheads. On 2nd November, British newspaper “The Guardian”
also supported this assertion by reporting that the British military is accelerating preparations to
take part in a US-led strike on Iran. After years of diplomatic efforts, there seems to be no
alternative to the use of military intervention as a means of halting Iran’s nuclear program. If this
choice is put into practice, it would be a recurrences of Israel’s attacks against Iraq in 1981 and
against Syria in 2007. Needless to say, it would not go without a severe retaliation and
considerable disasters. However, Israel and U.S. are still making all possible efforts of trying
diplomatic means and worldwide campaigns such as isolating Iran by banning the purchase of her
crude oil are underway. According to some information concerning the location of Iran’s nuclear
reactor site, a nuclear reactor built for the purpose of destroying Israel sits in ancient ‘Elam’. It is
also said to be located in a high earthquake zone, which means that if an earthquake strikes, it
would be destroyed and radiation will be spread throughout the area. Some argue that this event
may fulfill the passage in Jeremiah which describes the scattering of people in Elam ‘to the four
winds’. According to Frank DiMora, Elam is the territory of Shiite Muslims who want to conquer
the world for Allah, and he argues that Islam will be broken and the nation that wanted the
‘Mahdi’ (the prophesied redeemer of Islam coming before the Day of Judgment in Islamic
eschatology) to conquer the world will be put under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah’s passage clearly promises Elam’s restoration: ‘Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam
in days to come’. Although one may argue that the fact that Elamites were among the God-
fearing Jews from every nation on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit filled Christ’s
disciples in the upper room in Jerusalem, was a fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy, its final
fulfillment may only be brought about during the reign of Christ in His millennium kingdom.
Jeremiah’s prophecy concerning Babylon is also regarded as not having been fulfilled yet.
Both prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah spend two chapters to illustrate the catastrophic destruction of
Babylon. They depict her final state as uninhabitable to the degree that even the building
materials could never be reused. But this never happened in her history, and in fact, the late-
president Saddam Hussein began rebuilding Babylon. Frank DiMora puts it: ‘Concerning modern
day Babylon, it is likely that such impressive wealth and commercial influence as described in Revelation
would be acquired primarily during the period of seemingly peace and prosperity, this can happen in two
ways. First, we could see Iraq stabilize as a new government takes over and allows for the nation to begin
the rebuilding from its war just prior to the rapture of the Church. Second, it could also be that when the
rapture of the church takes place, and the antichrist takes over the world the world will go through a short
period of what appears to be a time of peace. I say this based on Daniel 8:25 where we are told the
following concerning this rise of the Antichrist. “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in
his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up
against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand’ (frankdimora.typepad.com).
Revelation chapters 17 and 18 also illustrate Babylon’s utter destruction. According to all
these prophetic descriptions, Babylon is still destined to rise again to be finally destroyed. On the
other hand, Babylon is depicted as the mother of every heathen system in the Scripture.
Everything in rebellion against God had its roots in Babylon. After the world began with a single
language “Hebrew”, the first dictator Nimrod, meaning “We will rebel”, had a godless
confederacy and built “Bab-El, Babylon”, that is, “Tower to Heaven” on the plain of ‘Shinar’
(Ge.11). In the Scripture Jerusalem represents the city of God, while Babylon, the city of man.
The Tower of Babel was a symbol of Nimrod’s rebellion against God. But God disrupted the
coalition of rebels by causing confusion of tongues among them. Since then, the rebellious legacy
of Babylon has remained as the traditions of idol and nature worship, astrology, cultic rites, and
occult practices among people worldwide. The city was first founded by Nimrod. The false
worship of the celestial system and heavenly things gave birth to “astrology”, where what God
originally gave to man as pictorial revelations in the heavens of His salvific plans for man were
distorted and corrupted to be the Zodiac, the constellations for divination. In traditions, Nimrod
married Simeromith, and she supernaturally bore a son, Tamaz. He was worshipped as a sun-god.
Tamaz was considered to die at the “winter solstice”, that is, the time of the year when the day is
the shortest and the night is the longest. Since then people have held a ceremony to bring him
(the dead sun-god) back to life in the following way: They burnt a “Yule” log which meant
‘infant’ in Chaldea during the night of the ceremony and the next morning they took a trimmed
tree in the house to celebrate the rebirth of Tamaz. They held the ceremony annually around the
winter solstice, and this concept has developed into the idea of a Christmas tree. Tamaz appears
as ‘Tammuz’ in the Scripture where Prophet Ezekiel was taken to Jerusalem in visions of God to
see how an abominable idolatry was secretly being observed by the leaders of the house of Israel.
The women of Jerusalem were bewailing him, their Babylonian fertility god ‘Tammuz’ dying,
believing that owing to it, the annual vegetation failed (Ezekiel 8).
When Babylon was destroyed by Persia the religious system was transferred to a Persian city,
Pergamus, whose name appears as ‘Pergamum’, modern Bergama in Re.2:12-17 and ‘where
Satan has his throne’. After the Persians were conquered by the Greeks and consequently by the
Romans, the entire system moved to Roma and further developed. The Roman leaders took on
the Babylonian high priests’ titles, and all the pagan idols that were worshipped by the
4. 4
Babylonians adopted Latin names and remained, retaining the same characteristics. When Roman
Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity in 312CE, he appointed Chritianity as the state
religion. Christianity became fashionable, but previously held pagan rituals were simply adapted
and renamed and settled in as church tradition. One such ritual was the “Saturnalia”, a so-called
harvest festival and it was celebrated on the 25th December. Therefore, if we cannot substantiate
some of the Christian traditions we practise today in the Scripture, there are good chances that
they can be found in the ancient book of Babylonian rites and mysteries (‘The Christmas Story’,
Koinonia House, consulted).
The historical fall of Babylon should not be confused with the destruction of Babylon as
prophesied in the Bible. When Babylon was destroyed in 539BCE by Cyrus the great, it was
taken over without a battle and after that, Babylon served as a secondary capital of the Persian
Empire for two centuries. Later, Greek king Alexander the Great made Babylon his capital. The
two chapters of Jeremiah quoted in the beginning and Revelation 17 & 18 reveal God’s end-time
purpose in dealing with the kingdoms of this world. Jeremiah informed His people about His
requirement that for a season they had to submit to Babylon and during that time they had to trust
in Him, who would deal with Babylon according to His plans and His perfect timings.
Babylonians would be allowed to have their day of triumph and yet, the day of the Lord would
undoubtedly come when God takes down the rebellious and bring peace and justice to the world.
Jeremiah revealed God’s determination in overthrowing Babylon in the end after using her as His
instrument to discipline His own people. Her wickedness, arrogance, mercilessness in plundering
the land, and her way of inflicting terrible cruelties and humiliation to people of Israel and Judah
cannot go unpunished. God never approved of their methods. Having witnessed the exile and
suffering of God’s people, even the enemies realised that Israel was guilty and that it was their
God that allowed judgment to come upon them because of their sin against Him: ‘Whoever found
them devoured them; their enemies said, “We are not guilty, for they sinned against the LORD,
their true pasture, the LORD, the hope of their fathers’. Even their enemies acknowledged that
God alone was the true hope of Israel, but they continued to abandon Him. However, God also
has plans for the future of each individual. When the time came, God urged the exiles to leave
Babylon because the day of the Lord was near. The people of Israel were urged to run for their
lives: ‘Come out of her, my people! Run for your lives! Run from the fierce anger of the
LORD’. Otherwise, the destruction befalling Babylon would come upon them as well. The whole
world, including Israel, was attracted by Babylon’s golden cup but it was fool’s gold, which only
led them to destruction. When God’s people humble themselves, recognising their plight and cry
out to Him, God would be ready to accept and deliver them from the bondage of sin. He would
heal their wounds and restore them to the land that was promised to their forefathers.
God has chosen Israel to be in a special relationship with Him for a far greater purpose than
we can fathom: He would reveal Himself to the nations through her and also, He would save all
nations who believed in Him through her. This is the reason why Babylon (symbolising the
world) hates God and His highly privileged people Israel. The Babylonian idol gods represented
greed, self-ambition, selfishness, lust, injustice, violence and pride, sharply contrasting with the
only true God, God of Israel. The former’s sense of value diametrically conflicts with that of
God’s kingdom which is beautifully characterized by love, mercy, just, self-sacrifice, peace,
humility and self-denial. Revelation 17 and 18 elaborate how much Babylon, the symbol of world
power, intoxicated the world and that it must fall. Indeed, the physical destruction of the ancient
city of Babylon took place but the city symbolising the wicked world system, opposing God’s
salvific plans for all nations still stands today, awaiting God’s final curse: ‘So will Babylon sink
to rise no more because of the disaster I will bring upon her’.
We hope all the blessings and peace of this special Season
