RON-Our movement is at it’s core about bringing people together to have a civil and serious dialogue about our country’s important challenges. At Panera I talk about a few basic ideas that form our corporate strategy: smart bets and competitive advantage are two of them. We need to be efficient with who we’re going after to join No Labels and we need to use the No Labels strengths to our advantage. We have some of the best leaders in the country supporting our movement. If Michelle Bachman can get a following with no message and no credibility, imagine what we can do with what No Labels brings to the table. We are organizing around the idea of “not left, not right, forward” and need the right vehicle to take our organizing to the next level. That tool is the Telephone Town HallTelephone Town Halls allow us to have drive the conversation and deepen relationships. This tool allows us to leverage our great speakers that are great No Labels messengers. Telephone Town Halls are a new an innovative way to reach into people’s homes and have a real dialogue. Some groups are just beginning to realize their potential. The Tea Party have already begun to use Telephone Town Halls effectively. Other traditional groups are stuck in their old ways. We have to leverage this new organizing technology to our benefit.
RONWhat’s a Telephone Town Hall. It begins with a list of people to invite and an autocall. An autocall goes out to everyone on the list. When they pick up, potential No Label members listen to a short message and are placed into a massive conference call. Then it’s basically a radio call in show. People press a button to get in line and the speaker can take questions live on the air.On top of that, the speaker asks participants questions that they answer by using their keypad. It’s an interactive event that participants treat as an intimate one with the speaker even though we can invite tens of thousands of people.
RONThe analysis on Telephone Town Hall participants shows that they are the people in your community that talk to a lot of people. When we find these people, we can use them to build buzz on the ground and spread our No Labels message. While there are many thousands of people on the event, participants view them as almost a one on one conversation with the speaker. Because of that, they become more interested and react more favorably to the speaker or the cause. Lets turn it over to Marty who can talk about last night’s event with Governor Charlie Crist and Eliot Cutler.

You’ll have people who stayed on for 5, 10, 30 minutes. These are prime targets to follow up with.
RONI think this is a great tool for No Labels to use to organize and build the movement. We can spread our message, recruit new members, and deepen our relationship with our current members. Every month, the No Labels back office will set up a event with a national speaker. Our next event will be April 13th with Evan Bayh.
RONHere’s how you can participate in the events and build your local chapter. For $0.21 per person you can buy into the event and have modeled potential No Labelers be invited to the event. You get the full data record with all that great information Marty talked about. They’ll get a heads up call about the event the day before and an invite to the Telephone Town Hall. On the back end, you get how long they participated, their answers to the survey questions asked, and what they told the No Labels screener. All this information allows you to indentify who to follow up with so that you organize and build your local chapter. If they stay on the event for 5 minutes, they’ve heard the No Labels pitch. It’ll be your job to bring them into the fold. We must make a deposit before we make a withdrawl. The Telephone Town Hall allows us the first pitch. Engage them in a real dialogue, show them what we’re all about.
