Nintendo started in 1889 when Fusajiro Yamauchi created a traditional Japanese card game called "Hanafuda" made from mulberry bark which became very popular in Kyoto, Japan. The document then briefly mentions Nintendo in the 80s, 90s, 2000 to present, and poses the question "What's next? Maybe" but provides no other details about Nintendo's history or future in those periods.

From Early Beginnings It all started in 1889, a man named Fusajiro Yamauchi created a card game called “Nintendo Koppai” also known as “Hanafuda”. “Hanafuda” cards were made out of mulberry tree bark. They were first manufactured and sold in Kyoto, Japan. “Hanafuda” was instantly popular. It was the most popular game in that region at that time.
