It was as if a Gameboy came to
life.
Costumed heroes made their
presence known at the Ninten-
do Pub Night at the Marquee
Thursday, as more than 75
people dressed up, danced and
indulged in nostalgia ‘til the
early hours of Friday morning.
Students brought to life a
colourful array of famous Nin-
tendo characters, from Zelda’s
Link to Super Mario himself.
“It’s fun to dress in cos-
tumes,” said Alissa Raimondo,
a third-year Visual and Cre-
ative Arts student who was
sporting an elaborate represen-
tation of Nintendo’s Pokémon
character, May.
With pokéballs at her side
and her favourite Pokémon in
her arms, she danced the night
away and enjoyed the sense of
community the event brought
to costumed students.
“Besides conventions, this is
the only place you can wear a
costume,” Raimondo said and
promptly announced that stu-
dents interested shouldn’t hes-
itate to participate, as the event
is a judgment-free zone.
“If you like to dance and
meet up with people after
school, then you should come
down to the Marquee. You’ll
be filled with glee at the Mar-
quee!”
The spirited occasion was
hosted by the Society of Fine
Arts club at Trafalgar Campus.
