Nigeria is located in Western Africa along the Gulf of Guinea. It has 36 states and the capital is Abuja. The population is approximately 150 million with an average life expectancy of around 50 years, lowered by diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and pollution from oil operations along the Niger River delta. The economy relies heavily on oil, petroleum, and mining, but Nigeria remains one of the world's 20 poorest countries. Women have little access to education and rights. Going forward, Nigeria needs to improve healthcare, boost the economy, strengthen the government, reduce poverty and pollution, and empower women.
