Wellness G.I.F.T.S. Inc.is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that offers camping retreats to families who have a family member with developmental disabilities, living at home with their parents or caregivers. Respite, Recreation, and Rejuvenation are the three ‘R’s we strive to achieve. Our families enjoy a weekend camping resort experience in a same family friendly, atmosphere. Wellness G.I.F.T.S. Inc. provides a catered breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the families throughout the retreat. In the welcome bag that we give to families upon arriving are T-shirts that help our volunteers and staff (who also wear specific shirts) distinguish our campers from Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort campers.
Unlike many other camp programs, whose focus is primarily on the family member with a disability, Wellness G.I.F.T.S. Inc. focuses on the family unit. The idea is to take a holistic approach to strengthen families by offering education, respite, and networking opportunities. The connections and friends made during the family’s stay have a lasting positive influence when the family returns home. We understand that stronger families create stronger communities.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

YOU can help the Band in many ways:
Besides signing up for a particular thing like props, fundraising or hospitality.
We are loading and unloading, and loading and unloading.
Parents do the bulk of this as the kids are busy readying for their performance.
Instruments, carts, food, water, uniforms. Like organized chaos.
Sound like fun?
You will enjoy this and your kids, although won`t admit it, love having you there.

16. Marching Band Committees
Uniforms Committee (No experience necessary!) - Work to get our students outfitted
(uniform, hat, shoes, gloves). On competition days – deal with any ‘wardrobe malfunctions’;
send them on the field polished and shined! ** Co-Chair needed **
Pit Crew – Many volunteers are needed to help load and unload our ‘Pit/Front Ensemble
instruments and equipment into the trailers. On competition days – Many volunteers are
needed to transport/walk all equipment and instruments on & off the field. ** Chair & Co-Chair needed
**
Props Crew – We are always looking for a few good Men and/or Women to help build any props
needed to enhance the show. On competition days – Volunteers are needed to assemble
(as needed), transport/walk all props on & off the field, then disassemble (as needed).
** Co-Chair needed **
Transportation - We have 3 trailers that we use to transport our instruments, equipment
and hospitality items to the various competitions & events throughout the year.
We need folks who have vehicles that can tow, and who have towing experience.
On competition or event days – generally travel in caravan to sites and park in
designated areas. **Plan for an ‘all-day’ event! ** Chair & Co-Chair needed **
