SEBI has issued a new demat account (DIS) guideline effective October 1, 2014 where depository participants (DPs) will no longer accept old DIS forms if the beneficial owner has already issued a new DIS. DPs have a one month transition period until October where they can accept old DIS forms. DPs must report to SEBI about implementing the new guideline through their monthly development reports.
