“Though it is unlikely that the government would divest up to 51 percent in all listed PSUs, the value that can be unlocked from a well planned secondary public offering is huge,” said SMC Capitals equity head Jagannadham Thunuguntla.

The World Energy Outlook Special Report discusses actions needed in the energy sector to help keep the goal of limiting global temperature rise to 2°C alive. It maps out current climate and energy policies, sets out four specific and cost-effective measures that can be implemented quickly in the energy sector to reduce emissions, and indicates further actions needed after 2020. The report demonstrates that the energy sector needs to address climate change risks to infrastructure and face potential drastic future government actions on emissions reductions.
This document provides advice on raising start-up and early-stage capital. It recommends asking whether you want to start-to-sell your company using investors and giving up some ownership, or build-to-keep it using your own money and loans to maintain 100% lifetime ownership. It emphasizes that financing a revenue-producing business is easier than raising start-up capital. The number one reason companies can't get started raising capital is poorly documented and delivered presentations. You need an expert team including lawyers and advisors from day one to help develop your pitch and presentation skills through practice. Refining your presentation materials and skills continuously is important for raising capital successfully.
During our workshop we will start by discussing barriers to edtech use and issues that may occur using the BYOD format. Following this we will introduce and discuss various APPs for use in the classroom and show examples of student work created using the APPs. The last part of the workshop will involve a ‘hands-on’ approach whereby you will be given a typical language learning activity and asked to use your own devices to reformulate the task to a BYOD format.
This panel discussion at SXSW 2014 will focus on how big data and sensors are transforming transportation systems in cities. As urban populations grow dramatically, transportation infrastructure must adapt to become more efficient and sustainable. New modes of transportation enabled by data sharing and social media have the potential to revolutionize how people and goods move within cities. However, these changes also raise issues around data ownership, privacy, updating transportation policies, and defining government's role in systems that incorporate shared private resources. The panel will discuss whether transportation is the next major industry to be disrupted by big data, challenges around data control, how policy can evolve beyond a focus on roads, and whether current models for transportation planning need revamping.

This document discusses the challenges of managing paper documents in a classroom and presents e-portfolios as a solution. It outlines the traditional process of passing physical documents between teachers and students and the frustrations involved. The document then proposes an electronic workflow using apps like Showbie, Type on PDF, and Printopia to allow teachers to send assignments digitally, grade student work electronically, and store documents online. It concludes that e-portfolios provide a more organized, effective and efficient system compared to physical paperwork.
