3. Prologue
This document is meant to catalog all known and unknown information and
accounts pertaining to the Deus Ostium and all subsequent history.
This journal is an account of the research that has been gathered by the DECO
organization as well as my personal exploits through the Deus Ostium.
4. The Deus Ostium
A mysterious structure located in each of the towers around the world. It
appears to act as a sort of portal between our reality and those of the
“Alium”.
The realities beyond the rifts are vast and sparse littered with cyclopean
ruins, towers, and remains of giant ancient creatures
The Alium civilizations that exist beyond the rifts vary in both
technological and cultural advancement.
With NOVU’s utilization of the Leporem energy and knowledge obtained from
the rifts, Earth’s technological advancement skyrocketed over the past three
decades.
6. The Towers
Tower Alpha
Location: Greece
Discovered: 700 BC
Tower Alpha has become the most famous tower. Having direct roots in Greek
mythology, it has also had the most expedition attempts over the last hundred years.
Tower Beta
Location: New Mexico
Discovered: 1600 AD
Tower Beta was originally discovered by native tribes in. Not much is known about
this tower beyond its location. Due to its precarious location, it is easy to find but
difficult to traverse or explore.
Tower Gamma
Location: New Mexico
Discovered: 1600 AD
Gamma has been established as a sacred site, with a strong spiritual and supernatural
beliefs arising from its discovery.
Tower Delta
Location: Egypt
Discovered: 3000 BC
The Delta was the first tower to be discovered, its existence was known but kept
secret and its location is known only by the few who have read the ancient
scriptures.
Tower Lambda
Location: Tibet
Discovered: 1500 AD
This tower was discovered by Sern in. The location remains hidden and only known by
Sern himself. It appears he has been conducting his own research on the towers.
Tower Omega
Location: Brazil
Discovered: 1940 AD
A tower discovered during my expedition with GATE. It was my first known encounter
of an “Alium” appearing on Earth from the rift.
8. Organizations
DECO
After learning how to travel through the towers, Verum attempted to make
contact with other Alium races and recruit them to join an alliance with DECO
in order to stop the rise of Anomalies on both Earth and their respective
worlds. Although not all races agreed to cooperate several had elected
representatives to join GATE as ambassadors between their worlds.

NOVU
An organization founded by Siegfried Sern after in 1910, not much is known
about Sern, only that since then NOVU has become synonymous with innovation
and technology. They claim to be working for the betterment of humanity
across the world through the advancement of science and technology. However,
I have my suspicions that Sern and his organization know a lot more than
they are letting on. For now, we will continue diplomatic relation with NOVU
and keep a close eye on their actions.

The Alium
The other intelligent races dubbed the “Alium”, which exist beyond the rifts,
live on a parallel Earth found on a different plane of existence; the
evolutionary chain was influenced by the energy left from the Ancients’ war
against the Elder Gods. In each of the towers DECO has explored, there has
always been at least one, sometimes several races that have been encountered.
Those that have formed an alliance with DECO have assigned a representative
to join DECO’s Ostium Exploration Division.

10. The Anomaly
Gender: UNKNOWN
NOTE: though some Anomaly variants appear to have male or female physical trait
it seems to be more aesthetic than server any fictional purpose.
Age: UNKNOWN
NOTE: Due to their unstable nature, it is difficult to tell if they are breed or
simply manifestations of the elder gods.
Height: Varies on type (Range 3 meters – ???)
Physical Attributes: Varies upon location encountered
Personality: Anomalies are devoid of thought and emotions. They act upon
the will of the Elder Gods embedded into them upon their creation.
Motivation: The Anomalies run on instinct and the desire to consume Leporem
to continue their existence in reality.
Abilities: The specific abilities of Anomalies vary, yet all are capable of
converting living matter into Leporem to consume, as well as temporarily
shifting in and out of reality to travel short distances.
Weakness: Since the Anomalies are composed of a similar form of matter and
energy to the Elder Gods themselves, they are susceptible to the weapons and
materials created by the Ancients during the war. Modified anti-Anomaly
weapons created by humans are far less effective but still capable of
damaging or destroying Anomalies.

12. The Elder Gods
The inscriptions found in the towers tell of a war that took place eons before
the birth of humanity. It appears as though the civilization that constructed
the towers were locked in a nearly endless war against beings they refer to
as Elder Gods.
Gender: UNKNOWN
Age: UNKNOWN
Height: UNKNOWN
NOTE: Hieroglyphs and scripture indicate that some Elder Gods are capable
changing size; some records indicate there are some as large as a planet.
Physical Attributes: UNKNOWN
NOTE: If our current encounters with Anomalies are any indication, there is a
high probability that the Ancients’ technology is capable of damaging the Elder
Gods, however, this is pure speculation.

14. The Technology
The technology we have discovered so far is beyond anything humanity has
ever developed. Based on what we have uncovered it appears to be powered by a
sort of life energy known as Leporem. The conception of such a thing existing
goes beyond all known knowledge of the scientific principles of that we
understand.
Leporem Core
Properties: A concentrated form of Leporem energy. It is possible to condense
vast amounts of Leporem energy to form Crystallized Leporem.
NOTE: Records indicate it is possible to artificially create a core.
Leporem Circuit
Properties: Circuits are specially made Leporem Cores that contain
information. Unlike normal Leporem Cores, Circuits cannot be converted into
pure energy. The properties of a Circuit vary depending on what purpose it
was forged.
Leporem Weapons
Properties: The civilization which created the towers also created various
weapons powered my Leporem energy.
Known weapon types include:
Explosion: Projectile weapons which use considerable amount of energy
Blade: Weapons with one or several sharpened edges, the most varying
in both form and versatility
Grimoire: Books and tomes which have been integrated with Leporem
Circuits.
Stave: Weapons capable of harnessing vast amounts of energy and
convert it into power
16. Deus Ostium
The Story
Learning of the hidden history behind the towers seeks to
know the truth of mankind’s existence. A group of female
human-monster hybrids from other realities team up under the
leadership of a young genius from earth to defeat an immortal
being that has released eldritch horrors upon their realities
which had been locked away for over fifty-thousand years by
traveling to other realities and sealing them back in the
void.
Deus Ostium is set in a Fantasy Horror universe where the
ruins of an ancient civilization are uncovered to reveal the
Earth’s connection to something greater in the universe. The
worlds beyond the rifts are kept a secret from the general
public until the founding of NOVU, whose discovery of the
energy source known as “Leporem”, allowed for their rapid
advance in power and technology.

19. Deus Ostium
The Franchise
Deus Ostium is the main story, an RPG set in the 1950’s that follows
an ensemble cast as the world begins to learn about the worlds
beyond the towers and the rise of NOVU. 3 DLC’s will be released,
each adding a new tower and additional story and races.
Deus Ostium’s transmedia is broken up into four parts each of
which alters the perspective of how the world is revealed. The
main part is the game series which follows the main story arc from
the perspective of Verum and his protégé (tentative).
Second is a series of light self-contained novels following the
backstories of each of the Alium characters and the relationships
between them. These light novels tie into the games very closely,
each adding backstory of the characters and their respective
worlds.
Next is the animated series, which is a prequel to the games.
However, this series is also self-contained as it follows the origin
story of the Ancients and the war against the Elder Gods before
the events of the games or novels.
Finally, there is a tabletop RPG game that parallels the video
game. It is not necessary to have played the video game to
understand the tabletop RPG. The game focuses on dungeon crawling
and exploration of a few of the towers.
