Nanoparticles are particles between 1 to 100 nanometers in size that can be viewed using a transmission electron microscope (TEM) at magnifications as high as 200,000 times. While TEMs provide powerful magnification and high-quality images of nanoparticles, they are expensive to operate, require specialized training and sample preparation, and are sensitive to vibration and electromagnetic interference.
