Maria describes her summer vacation spent with her husband's family in Supe, Peru. They stayed at the grandmother's house and met cousins, enjoying local foods like tamales. Activities included going to the beach, swimming, barbecuing, attending a baptism and dance, butchering a pig, and visiting family. They went to a seafood contest and out to eat delicious local foods. On a cousin's saint's day, relatives traveled to Supe for a party with eating, drinking, dancing, and fireworks. The vacation allowed Maria to strengthen family bonds and experience Peruvian culture through food and activities.
