- Les Roches was founded in 1954 in Switzerland as an international school for young people called 'Ecole des Roches' and grew to over 200 students from 60 countries within a few years. - In 1979 it became Les Roches International Hotel and Tourism School with instruction in English in response to growing global demand. - The school was nearly destroyed by a fire in 1985 but recovered quickly by finding temporary housing for students and classes in local hotels while a new campus was rebuilt.
