5. The Wizard of Oz, the Sound of Music
and Oliver being amongst my favourites
growing up.
6. My first appearance on a stage was
at school in Sing a song of sixpence,
a minor role, I was a blackbird….
7. Then I went a step further and I
was a weasel in the Toad of Toad
Hall! As an adult I participated in a
few musicals at our local theatre.
8. In my childhood home we had
drums and my dad had a
keyboard and a violin. Whilst
growing up I had guitar and
piano lessons which taught me a
lot about reading music and
rhythm. I had a recorder and I
made some horrific sounds with
it but hopefully some pleasant
ones too!!
9. We had a lot of
fun with fantasy
dressing up as
often as possible,
this photo holds a
special memory, it
was taken in the
early 1970’s
10. When I had children the
arts became a whole
new journey, seeing it
through the eyes of
children has been the
best experience of my
life. We learn so much
through the eyes of
children and their
wonderful creativity. I
always encourage my
children to experiment
with their creativity
throughout their
childhood
11. My oldest child
is my media
expert, anything
to do with media
he will be able to
help me as his
skills and
knowledge
probably exceed
mine
15. My second oldest child loves his
drama taking part in numerous
dramas including the role of the
Beast in Beauty and the Beast
and one of the boys in Lord of
the Flies – drama was one of his
subjects in high school.
16. My older daughter
is the budding artist
and did visual art
as a high school
subject
17. Together, as a
family, we
have
experienced
all different
forms of art. I
have picked
some artwork
to show you
18. My dad’s musical
influence has been
present in my
children’s lives too.
He is never too old
or tired to find time
to entertain his
grand-children in
the world of music
19. My dad is still
my inspiration
and my rock. All
my experience
and knowledge I
have today can
be attributed to
my wonderful
family especially
my ever loving
dad.
I have chosen “You light up my life” as my background song due to the
special memories it holds for me and my dad, it is a song I used to
perform for my dad and sometimes my Aunty when I was 11 years old.
20. I would be really excited to have
the opportunity to share my love
for The Arts with more than just
my family but to extend my
experience with your children too!

universe, wings to the mind, flight
to the imagination and life to
everything.” Plato
