Yilson Aldana recounts his last vacation visiting political uncles in Flandes, Colombia. He got permission from his mother to accompany his older brother Andres by bus to his uncles' home in Bogota. They spent the night there before driving the next day to Flandes, taking scenic routes through towns like Mesitas and Fusagasuga to avoid tolls. When they arrived, Yilson, his brother, and cousins went to the pool at the house they were staying in, while the others shopped for food for the week-long trip. Though Yilson got sunburned, he enjoyed the travel experience overall.

1. My Last Vacations

2. A few days
before, my
political uncle
called me to
ask if a want to
go to a travel
with them.

3. Immediately I
asked to my
mom:
-Can I go with
my uncles to a
travel?
She respond:
-You not alone,
but with one of
your brothers
you can go.

4. Them, my mom
took the phone,
and talked my
uncles to make
sure that
nothing is
going to
happen there

5. The day before
me and my
older brother
Andres, get
ready to go to
my uncle`s
home.

6. They live in the
southwest side
of Bogota, so we
had to take a bus
to get there.
We lived in Suba,
so only had to
take 1 bus and it
pass near to our
home.
Just we had to
walk a few
blocks to wait
the bus.

7. To arrive to my
uncle`s home
took us 2
hours, and we
spent the night
there until the
next day.

8. Early all woke
up and get
ready to start
the travel to
Flandes.

9. Once all was
ready all go the
car and go to
Flandes by the
Tequendama
falls

10. We cross by
Mesitas,
Fusagasuga,
Silvania and we take
a shortcut by Agua
de Dios, because
my uncle want to
avoid the tolls along
the road.

11. When finally
arrive to
Flandes, we get
to a home not
too big with a
pool near.

12. At the first day
me my brother
and my cousins
go to the pool
meanwhile the
rest go to the
market and
shop the food
and other
things for a
week.

13. At the end I
return all
tanned,
because I
ended with sun
burnings, but it
was fun the
travel.
