Maritina is a 12-year-old girl who lives in the suburbs of Athens. She wakes up at 7:15 am each day to get ready for school, which is only a 7-10 minute walk from her home. She enjoys her daily routine and likes having her father work from home so she can see him every day. In her free time, Maritina takes English lessons twice a week as well as Tae-Kwon-Do lessons on Mondays.

1. Hello everybody! My name is Maritina, and… I’m a normal kid of my
age, I suppose. I’m 12 years old. Everyday I wake up at 7:15 o’ clock,
almost like every kid that is able to go to school. Well, I eat breakfast,
but sometimes I don’t have enough time to. It’ s okay, because I take
some food with me, so I eat at school. But usually, that doesn’t happen
to me. I didn’t tell you that I live at the suburbs of Athens, so my school
isn’t very far from my house. I need seven to ten minutes to go, so I’m
never late.
Generally, I like my life the way it is. Let me tell you some more things
about me!
Fortunately, I am able to get to school
with my dad’s car. Not because that he’s
not working or he doesn’t have a job, but
his boss lets him work by house, which I
really like, because I can see him
everyday. My mum has stopped working,
but she still gets paid. And she’s only 48
years old! And my dad is 58 years old.

2. Amazing!
I don’t know why, because it is my parent’s decision, maybe, but I don’t
have tiring afternoons like many kids have. I’m having English lessons twice
a week, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Mondays I’m having Tae-Kwon-Do
lessons, which are very-very interesting. I get home from school at 3 o’
