The border station between Zimbabwe and South Africa in Musina is busy almost around the clock. There are many military checkpoints on the dirt roads surrounding Musina, though some sections of border fence look sturdy while others have open gates. In comparison, one entire section of fence is missing, allowing access to farmer's lands as seen by gaping holes and torn fencing. In the distance, the calm Limpopo River can be glimpsed, which becomes deadly during rainy season floods.
