Ms. Lori Weiher
I. Introduction
A. Brief personal story of “It is what it is!”
B. Ms. Weiher has inspired me as a fellow Airman, as well as a Veteran that has
Survived 3 different types of Cancer; Gillian Barr (Miller Fisher variant),
double breast cancer, and Stage 4 double lung cancer, with the most positive
attitude, and not allowing any of these adversities getting in the way of her
serving her community, church, and family.
II. Energy
A. Serving in the USAF Active Duty and Reserves and deploying to Afghanistan,
while raising 4 children, aging from 15 years old to 31 years old, and fostering
16 children.
B. Obtaining Masters in Psychology while battling cancer
C. Advocating for children in the local community as a CASA Representative,
acting as a voice for the child in DHS Custody
III. Challenges
A. Three types of cancer as a result of immunizations given while serving on
Active Duty
B. Battling VA for compensation since 2007 for a Service Connected Disability
C. Raising four of her own children, as well raising several foster children in the
DHS System
IV. Inspiration for me and others in neighborhood and community
A. Strength and courage to learn from her battles
B. Giving me opportunities to grow in my passion, which is fighting for Veterans
Disability Benefits that are an entitlement after serving our country
C. Friendships and relationships that will offer me the opportunity to continue
helping Veterans fight for their Service Connected Disability entitlements

B. Has continued to inspire and help other while in last stages of her life at age
