Deployment to Liberia to observe, report on and improve operations of
four company helicopters supporting ECOMOG, the multi-national West
African peacekeeping force. Organized field office administrative and
financial records. Work as Aviation Officer included flight coordination
with ECOMOG command staff, United Nations, US Government and
Embassy personnel throughout the region.
Service in Haiti as temporary Project Manager and Aviation Officer. Trips
were 6 – 10 weeks in length. Coordinated utilization of two Mi-8MTV
helicopters and 10-13 foreign nationals on contract with the US
Department of State in support of the United Nations Mission in Haiti.
Planned and implemented daily flights with UN, US and Haitian
government personnel. Provided medical evacuation, search and rescue
and VIP flight and security capabilities and service. Organized field office
administrative and financial records.
Mobilization and transportation of a Russian Mi-8MTV helicopter from
Vladivostok, Russia to Port au Prince, Haiti, through the continental
United States and the Bahamas. Responsible for all coordination between
Russian aviation companies, shipping companies, US Customs, US
Department of Agriculture, Port of Seattle, Boeing Field, US Department
of State and foreign airport officials. Escorted aircraft through US airspace
to Haiti. Completed mobilization under time and under budget.
