- In 1997, the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health first proposed terms to be used to label MR info for medical devices. These terms have been used interchangeably and/or incorrectly giving the impression that a device is safe or compatible in ALL MR environments.
- Field conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient, time rate of change of the magnetic field, RF fields, and SAR.
