The trailer for Andy Serkis's adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book" titled "Mowgli" promises a darker take on the story than Disney's 2016 version. "Mowgli" uses live-action and motion-capture techniques to tell the story of a man-cub named Mowgli who is raised by wolves and must learn to survive threats from both the jungle and human world. Director Andy Serkis insists that while similar to "The Jungle Book," his film is targeting an older audience and aims to follow Kipling's darker original story more closely. "Mowgli" is expected to be released on October 19, 2018.
