As a farmer at Joseph Fields Farm, I was responsible for planting, harvesting,
cultivating and processing crops that are grown to sell to farmer's markets,
restaurants, and for CSAs. I helped with livestock care, including chickens, goats, and
ponies. I also sold fruits and vegetables at farmers' markets during the week. This was
a temporary/seasonal position associated with a farming apprenticeship in
Charleston, S.C.

I helped costumers as they browsed through the store and assisted them in finding
furniture and other antiques. I maintained the displays and furniture arrangements and

I began as a volunteer at this sustainable organic farm and assisted with planting,
harvesting, and processing seasonal vegetables. I learned how to manage the
vermicomposting system as well as take care of the chickens and learned as much as
I could about keeping honeybees. I applied for an internship after the summer of
2012, completed the three-month internship and continued on as an intern while also
getting paid to work farmers’ markets.

and that all of their needs were met.
