The Southern Central Divide Blended Learning Project aimed to integrate new technologies to empower learning and transform leadership across 30 secondary and area schools with over 11,000 learners. The project provided professional development to one teacher from each school on using tools like Moodle, Educo, and ePortfolios to enhance student-centered learning. Teachers discussed using technologies like virtual field trips, email, Skype, and online research to support student-led units and increase computer skills, with goals of expanding use of these tools school-wide.

The Investigate the State program is an interdisciplinary STEM outreach program for K-12 teachers that focuses on developing inquiry skills through project-based science. The Phase III program will involve teachers from 3rd to 9th grade collaborating in workshops, online, and through lesson study and video reflection to develop inquiry-based curriculum units addressing challenging topics. The goals are to improve students' science achievement by providing teachers with resources, assessment practices, and a network of support to enhance their instruction and use of inquiry-based lessons incorporating technology.

- 3. Our Accomplishments Our staff was trained to use data with their students and to make data based decisions through our Tinkerplots Training.
- 4. Our Accomplishments… Professional development sessions with a focus on developing higher levels of student discourse.
- 5. Our Accomplishments… Our DePict work focused on using various protocols including The Student Discourse Observation Protocol. DePict lessons were also videotaped and analyzed by all math teachers in the building.
- 6. Our Accomplishments… Teachers implemented higher level tasks and shared their anticipations and observations of their students’ thinking. This was a big step for many of our staff members!!!
- 7. Next Steps… We are going to continue to develop ways to implement technology to promote student discourse and meaningful mathematical understanding.
