Mobile Software Engineer
Permanent- £40-80,000

Our client is looking for an experienced mobile software engineer with iOS and Android experience is
wanted for an established and profitable company with a popular mobile publishing product -.
Clients using the product include Haymarket, Dennis Publishing, Reed Business International, Bauer
Media, Hearst, The Spectator, Which?, News Corp and Progressive, as well as some large education
clients and the UK Parliament.
The company has around 20 permanent staff in its vibrant central London office, about 80% of which
are technical. There is a very strong social culture, with frequent visits to the pub.
The Mobile Developer will work with and support an existing team working on the continued
development of iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry bespoke applications for the platform. They
will be highly technical, communicative and passionate about high-performing software. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in software development, using languages like Java or C,
and may have recently re-focussed on Objective-C. There could also be Professional Services work
developing client
This is an extremely hands on role, with the vast majority of the time spent coding.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement and maintain new features for the core products (which is cross compiled
between iOS, Android and Windows 8)
* Ability to mentor junior developers including code reviews
* Ensure the mobile experience is consistent with overall company/product proposition, including
user experience, data handling/retention and feature interaction
Core skills:
* At least 8 years experience as a developer
* Experienced with both iOS and Android development.
* Experienced senior app development engineer
* Excellent coding and problem solving skills
* Strong team working skills, working with a formal development approach
* Experience working as part of a team with formal code and project management tools
* Proficiency in, at least one other object-oriented languages such as Java or C++
* Excellent communications skills
* Windows and Blackberry is beneficial
* Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
