MVC, MVP, MVVM, Clean and more keywords might sound familiar to you, these describes patterns that helps developers building high quality software by organizing things up. But why bother? why not stick to the classic 'don't fix what ain't broken'? A well planified architected app can speed up the development process and simplify the long term maintainability. It's not enough to keep functions smalls and not building a god-Activity, we need to level-up and design towards clean architecture. This talk will review and discuss MVP and Clean approaches, how to start, and tips on architecting our apps in a compelling way.
This document proposes a mobile app design for Our Daily Manna ministry. Key features of the app include allowing members to stay connected through activities, events and prayer lists; making donations easier; listening to sermons and accessing daily devotionals; sharing content with friends; and engaging the congregation through social media and push notifications. The app would be managed through a content management system to instantly publish updates across platforms like iPhone, Android and Windows Phone.
This document summarizes an Android news app project. It lists the project mentor and team members. The app aims to provide latest news updates in English and Hindi, as well as options to watch TV and play games. It discusses what was learned technically and generally during the project. It also outlines the software requirements, intended end users, and plans for future enhancements.
This document provides 7 tips for making high performance PhoneGap apps:
1. Use a JavaScript framework to avoid reinventing the wheel.
2. Avoid janky animations by using CSS transitions instead of JavaScript for animations.
3. Address the 300ms tap delay issue by using a library like FastClick.
4. Use a library like PouchDB for offline data storage and syncing instead of localStorage which has issues.
5. Handle updating the UI when the app is in the background using pause and resume events.
6. Avoid memory leaks by properly removing elements from memory and handling timeouts/intervals.
7. Use the Crosswalk plugin to improve performance.

The document discusses the future of web and app development across multiple devices and platforms. It argues that native applications combined with web technologies (Native+) provide the best user experience and allow apps to be built for all devices now rather than waiting for full web support. Resources for developing cross-platform apps using technologies like Web APIs, PhoneGap, and Windows 8 are provided.
The document discusses the History API, which allows dynamic client-side web applications to modify browser session history and provide a more seamless user experience by changing the URL without requiring a page refresh. It can be used to power bookmarkable single-page applications, back/forward buttons in JavaScript widgets like lightboxes, and AJAX-driven sites with page navigation using pushState() and replaceState(). Browser support is good across modern browsers except for Internet Explorer.

This event will adopt a hybrid format, allowing participants to join us either through an online Mircosoft Teams session or in person at TU/e located at Den Dolech 2, Eindhoven, Netherlands. The meet-up will be hosted by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), a research university specializing in engineering science & technology.
Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power gridâs behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
-Insightful presentations covering two practical applications of the Power Grid Model.
-An update on the latest advancements in Power Grid -Model technology during the first and second quarters of 2024.
-An interactive brainstorming session to discuss and propose new feature requests.
-An opportunity to connect with fellow Power Grid Model enthusiasts and users.
