2. PROJECT DETAILS
Project Name : “Preparation and characterization of activated carbon from locally available
biomass materials”.
Description : Activated carbon is by activation of any carbonaceous material such as
agriculture waste, bamboo, wood chips, saw dust, coal, husk, etc. Initially
activated carbon is prepared by selecting any locally available novel biomass
material. Proximate analysis and ultimate analysis would be performed to
determine the physical properties of activated carbon. The same activated carbon
will be utilized in diverse application such as water treatment for removal of toxic
soluble solute and color impurities from wastewater.
