The 2nd Middle East Leasing Summit 2015 was a 2.5 day event held in Dubai in November to discuss opportunities in the leasing industry in Middle Eastern countries. Speakers from governments, industry associations and leasing companies discussed policies, the market landscape, business models and financing options. During the event, auto fleet leasing was the main topic of discussion on the first half day, while equipment leasing and the financing situation in the Middle East and worldwide were analyzed on the first full day. The final day covered topics like SME financing, customer selection, regulations and risk management. Panel discussions and networking opportunities allowed participants to communicate and learn about new industry developments. The event was supported by several industry organizations and sponsors.

With world market circumstances subject to substantial shifts at
present, leasing is gaining prevalence as an alternate method of
financing high value equipment. In this November, the 2nd Middle
East Leasing Summit 2015 was held in Dubai to help both native
and international leasing industry players grasp the development
opportunities throughout Middle Eastern countries. Speakers from
regional governments, authoritative industry associations, and
leading leasing & financing companies were invited to interpret
policy regulations, market landscape, market entry models, leasing
business models, financing channels, risk control, Islamic finance
and asset management in the Middle Eastern leasing business.
During the two-and-a-half-day event, on the first half-day for the
pre-conference, the key topic focused on was auto fleet leasing.
The first full day of the main conference analyzed equipment
leasing and the financing landscape around the world, especially
covering the situation of market entry as well as leasing business
models in the Middle East. Most leasing business in the Middle
East is carried out by local vendor dealers, which is quite different
from the traditional vendor programs in other parts of the world.
Besides, the high-tech and office equipment leasing is among the
major development trends in the Middle East. The final day of the
conference presented a series of challenges and opportunities
covering SME financing, customer selection criteria, leasing
legislations and reform in MENA, Ijarah, and risk management.
After that, asset management and residual value were arranged as
special topics and were the focal point of much discussion among
attendees.
It is worth mentioning that panel discussions and tea break
activities created many communication opportunities for
participants. Most attendees expressed on site that they had
communicated with their potential partners and received many
new industry development ideas.
