I’ve done research on Mesa Verde
national park. I feel you’ll want to go
here just as much as me when I
researching it. You will have some
understanding that you can show off
when your there.

Mesa Verde was established in for
tourism in 1906. Mesa Verde is Spanish
for Green Table. The people who lived
at what is now Mesa Verde were called
the Ancestral Peubloans. The average
Peubloan lived to be 32-34 years old.
But 50% of all children never lived
past 5 years old! The average male was
5 foot 4 to 5 foot 5. The average woman
was 5 feet to 5 foot 1.
    Mesa Verde has many natural
features. It has many land mammals like
squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, and
mountain loins. It also has cold
blooded animals like golden eagles,
bull snakes, tarantulas, and over 200
other birds. You might be asking what
about the plant life? Well Mesa Verde
has many plants too. Like cacti and
lots of different trees like pine, oak,
and maple.
So what about their culture? Well
they were big with their culture. For
example they believed in their own gods
and had their religion. Now I wasn't
done with all the history. You should
know they came over 10,000 years ago!
Others say they started living in mesa
topped buildings at 1A.D.! Things they
used everyday are things like tools,
pottery,baskets, and jewelery. They had
a group called the basket makers. They
could weave baskets so fine they could
hold water!

      Sadly the park faces challenges
today. The mane thing is the killing of
plants and animals. It could effect
things like herbivores. And if plants
die Mesa Verde will become a dessert
with pit houses.

The park seems like a great place.
In my opinion everyone should go there.
So now you can show some knowledge
when you go.
