2. Choose Manitoba
Each year some 15,000 people from countries all over the world move to
Manitoba, finding in this Canadian province new jobs and careers, friendly
communities and affordable family living.
Newcomers choose Manitoba for many reasons. Some choose Manitoba to be
closer to family, some for employment opportunities, and for others it is an
attraction to a part of Canada that is not too big and not too small.
Manitoba immigrants are succeeding! According to a recent survey, 85 per cent
of Manitoba provincial nominees were working three months after arrival, 76 per
cent were homeowners within five years and 95 per cent of families settle
permanently in the community, making Manitoba their new home.

4. Skilled Workers in Manitoba
Overview
Skilled Workers is locally driven and based on the needs of Manitoba
employers. This program selects internationally trained and experienced
workers who have the skills needed in the local labour market, and nominates
them to receive Canadian permanent resident visas to settle and work in
Manitoba.
The MPNP for Skilled Workers in Manitoba nominates applicants who have a
strong connection to the province through ongoing employment and sufficient
skills, education and training, work experience and official language proficiency.
Unlike the other connections to Manitoba in the MPNP, Skilled Workers in
Manitoba are not subject to a points-based assessment.

Conditions
• The offer of long-term employment must be from the same employer for
whom you have been working full-time for the required time period.
• You must have all qualifications for the position including training/education
and any required licence or certification.
• You must have job-ready English; specifically you must demonstrate the
English or French proficiency to fulfill the duties of your job description.
• Your connection to Manitoba through employment must be stronger than
ties you may have to another province.
• You must demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live,
work and establish your work and family life in Manitoba as a permanent
resident.

Required documents
Written confirmation from Manitoba employer, on company letterhead that
you’ve been working full-time for at least six months continuous, job-offer letter,
specifying salary/wage and details of the position.
Valid language test results (minimum CLB 4 for NOC C and D) except those
currently working in Manitoba in high-skill occupations (NOC 0, A or B)
Immigration history and status in Canada
certificate, degree or diploma for each program
Settlement funds of CAD $10,000 plus CAD $2,000 for spouse and each
accompanying dependant.

Immigration for Skilled Workers in Manitoba is a three-step process:

EOI Ranking System is based of 6 factors and is same for Skilled Worker Stream
and International Education Stream.
Language proficiency – Maximum 125 points
Age – Maximum 75 points
Work experience – Maximum 175 points
Education – Maximum 125 points
Adaptability – Maximum 500 points
Risk factors – Maximum -200 points (for study or work experience in another
province)
9. Skilled Workers Overseas
Overview
The MPNP for Skilled Workers Overseas nominates applicants who demonstrate
an established connection to Manitoba through:
• the support of family members or friends;
• through previous education or work experience in the province; or
• through an Invitation to Apply received directly from the MPNP as part of a
Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Demonstrate an established connection to Manitoba
Age in between 18 to 49 years
Trade diploma or 1 year post secondary diploma
At least CLB 4 for NOC C and D
Settlement Funds
Score at least 60 points based on five factors in order to be eligible.

13. Career Employment Pathway
Overview
The Career Employment Pathway provides faster nomination pathways for post-
secondary students who graduate and find long-term employment in Manitoba in
an in-demand occupation consistent with their training. If you meet these
conditions, you will be eligible to apply to the MPNP immediately after graduating
and obtaining the job offer.
If you are an international student who graduated in another province of Canada
and/or are not working in an in-demand occupation, you may be eligible to apply
under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream.

Minimum Requirement
You must have graduated in the past 3 years from a designated post-secondary
institution in Manitoba
Minimum CLB/NCLC 7 (or equivalent)
A full-time job offer from an eligible Manitoba employer, with a minimum 1-year
contract on Manitoba’s published In-Demand Occupations list that is consistent
with your completed program of studies in Manitoba. You must be working full-
time in Manitoba at the time your application is assessed
Settlement funds or employed in a full-time, long term position in Manitoba
You must be residing in Manitoba at the time of application
You must show the intent to continue to reside in Manitoba after nomination

16. Graduate Internship Pathway
Overview
The Graduate Internship Pathway provides faster nomination pathways for
international student master and doctoral graduates through internships
contributing to industry innovation in Manitoba. Graduates who complete
an Accelerate or Elevate internship with Mitacs in Manitoba can apply to the MPNP
immediately after graduation, whether or not they have a job offer.
If you are an international student who graduated in another province of Canada
and/or are not working in an in-demand occupation, you may be eligible to apply
under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream.

Minimum Requirement
Must completed a master or doctoral degree program in Manitoba within the
past 3 years
Minimum CLB/NCLC 7 (or equivalent)
Completed a Mitacs Elevate or Accelerate (including Accelerate Entrepreneur)
internship with an eligible industry and research enterprise in Manitoba
You are not required to have a job offer at the time of application
Settlement funds or employed in a full-time, long term position in Manitoba

19. International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
Overview
The International Student Entrepreneur Pilot will provide up to 20 (per calendar
year) international students who have graduated in Manitoba the opportunity to
pursue entrepreneurship rather than employment. Once the applicant meets the
conditions of their Business Performance Agreement, they are nominated for
permanent residence.
If you are an international student who graduated in another province of Canada,
you may be eligible to apply under the Business Investor Stream Entrepreneur
Pathway.

Minimum Requirement
A business plan is required as part of your application to MPNP
You must operate the business as a senior manager on a daily basis from the
place of business in Manitoba for at least 6 months prior to nomination while on
a valid temporary work permit, consistent with the requirements of your
Business Performance Agreement (BPA)
Minimum CLB/NCLC 7
Age 21-35 years
Complete a full-time post-secondary program in Manitoba that is at least 2
years in duration

Have a valid open work permit or post-graduation work permit (PGWP) at the
time of application
Have continuously resided in MB since graduation
Show intent to continue to reside in MB after nomination
A deposit is not required
Must demonstrate the settlement funds
After an application is approved, a Business Performance Agreement (BPA)
must be signed prior to the MPNP issuing you an approval-in-principle letter to
implement your business plan

23. Entrepreneur Pathway
Overview
The renewed Entrepreneur Pathway replaces the previous MPNP-B stream. It
allows Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business people from around the
world who have the intent and ability to move to Manitoba and establish, purchase
a business or become partners in an existing business within the first 24 months of
arrival in Canada on a temporary work permit. Applicants are no longer required to
submit a deposit of $100,000 to the Manitoba Government.

Minimum Requirement
Minimum 3 years of full time work experience in the past five years as an
active business owner or working in a senior management role of a
successful business
Business owners must have at least 33 1/3% ownership to qualify for
points
Minimum CLB/NCLC 5
Minimum Canadian high school certificate equivalent
No minimum or maximum age; however, ranking points are allocated to
candidates 25 to 49 years of age
Minimum investment is $250,000 for businesses situated inside and
$150,000 for outside the Manitoba Capital Region.

29. Farm Investor Pathway
Overview
The renewed Farm Investor Pathway (FIP) replaces the previous Farm Strategic
Recruitment Initiative. The Pathway is for individuals with proven farm business
experience, sufficient available capital to invest, and who intend to establish and
operate a farm operation in rural Manitoba.

Minimum Requirement
Minimum of three years farm ownership and operation experience supported by
verifiable documents
Language capabilities to become economically established in rural Manitoba
At least $300,000 investment to establish a farming business in rural Manitoba
You must conduct a Farm Business Research Visit to Manitoba
You are required to live on the farm and actively participate in the management
of the farm business on an ongoing basis from within Manitoba
Demonstrate adaptability relating to practical farming skills, technical
knowledge and experience in technological based farming practices
