Dr. Kritsonis Recognized as Distinguished Alumnus
In 2004, Dr. William Allan Kritsonis was recognized as the Central Washington University Alumni Association Distinguished Alumnus for the College of Education and Professional Studies. Dr. Kritsonis was nominated by alumni, former students, friends, faculty, and staff. Final selection was made by the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Recipients are CWU graduates of 20 years or more and are recognized for achievement in their professional field and have made a positive contribution to society. For the second consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report placed Central Washington University among the top elite public institutions in the west. The document discusses photos taken by photographers in Cambodia and the UK that show children learning in various ways. Many of the same lessons like writing, art, music, and math were happening in both countries. It then discusses how CAFOD works to help ensure children in difficult situations can still go to school, such as providing tents after disasters or broadcasting lessons via radio for those who live too far from schools. CAFOD's goal is to help all children go to school as it believes education is a basic human right.
Due process provides basic fairness and prevents wrongful deprivation of life, liberty, or property under the law. It serves two goals: producing accurate results through fair procedures, and making people feel the government treated them fairly by being heard. Due process requires notice of charges, standards of conduct, and a meaningful opportunity to rebut charges. It must be requested within one year and provide specific information on the resolution sought. The hearing is independent and binding, with timelines for resolution and issuing a final decision.
This case involved 9 minority students who filed a federal lawsuit against the Texas Education Agency challenging the use of the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS) exam as a graduation requirement. The plaintiffs argued that the TAAS exam was discriminatory because 20% of black and Hispanic students failed the exam, compared to only 10% of white students. The U.S. District Court ruled that using the TAAS exam as a graduation requirement did not violate Title VI regulations or the due process rights of Texas' minority students. The court found that the plaintiffs did not prove the TAAS exam was implemented despite disparities in education or that it perpetuated those disparities.

This document contains code that counts the number of Fridays that fall on the 13th day of each month between the current date and December 31st, 2013. The code initializes a Calendar object for the end date of December 31st, 2013. It then initializes a second Calendar for the current date and sets it to the 13th day of the month if needed. A while loop runs from the current date to the end date, adding any dates that fall on a Friday to a List, incrementing the month each iteration.
The document contains a series of dates from 2008-06-23 followed by code to run tests on a website. It includes opening the homepage, checking the title, and validating it matches the expected title of "Hello, World!".

5th LF Energy Power Grid Model Meet-up SlidesDanBrown980551
5th Power Grid Model Meet-up
It is with great pleasure that we extend to you an invitation to the 5th Power Grid Model Meet-up, scheduled for 6th June 2024. This event will adopt a hybrid format, allowing participants to join us either through an online Mircosoft Teams session or in person at TU/e located at Den Dolech 2, Eindhoven, Netherlands. The meet-up will be hosted by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), a research university specializing in engineering science & technology.
Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
-Insightful presentations covering two practical applications of the Power Grid Model.
-An update on the latest advancements in Power Grid -Model technology during the first and second quarters of 2024.
-An interactive brainstorming session to discuss and propose new feature requests.
-An opportunity to connect with fellow Power Grid Model enthusiasts and users.

Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-und-domino-lizenzkostenreduzierung-in-der-welt-von-dlau/
