The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 by Frank Shankwitz, Scott Stahl, and Linda Bergendahl-Pauling to grant the biggest wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions after they met a 7-year-old boy named Christopher who wished to be a police officer. The founders were inspired to start the organization to make wishes come true for other children after Christopher passed away from leukemia. The Make-A-Wish Foundation now grants wishes to many children annually and its impact in bringing joy to wish kids continues to spread through social media stories.
