MAIN PLOT FOR MY
HORROR MOVIE.
Alana Barratt.
Beginning.
• A couple are buying a brand new home to start their new

family together. The house they are thinking about buying
a old house that used to be a foster home for
children, which is stereotyped to be a happy, nice place.
This is something this building certainly wasn’t for the
foster children that used to live there. The house is
abandoned in a woods with no one around, which may
already add a suspicious. This is something they find out
when they discover the basement.
• The couple decide on buying the house
and both make it become their home.
Middle- equilibrium.
• Just when the couple are fully moved in to their new home

they discover a door which leads to a basement they
didn’t know about. They will find a lot of old belongings
which will include diaries ( which will play a crucial part in
the movie) , doll houses and old toys all of which
belonged to the foster children.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• The couple decided on reading the old diary to find out it

was a child's diary describing their day. However the
couple did not expect what they read.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• The diary mentions horrific events including torture and an

unnamed masked man. Once the couple read the masked
mans description out loud it raises a curse, which will
make the masked man raise and re create the events that
happened in that foster house. However the couple are
totally oblivious to what's about to happen to them and are
soon to find a cupboard full of torturing weapons which
will soon add a horrific atmosphere to the audience.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• Throughout this part in the film I will set this scene at night

and use pathetic fallacy ( which will include rain and
storms) to create the mood and meaning of the scene for
the audience.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• The couple will get a sudden, random and unexpected

knock on the door, which will alert the audience on who it
is.
• Incidental music will be played throughout this to add
suspense.
• When the couple choose not to answer the door they
soon become petrified as an axe is thrown through the
window, causing the male to go and check leaving the
venerable female victim alone in the house with the
maxed man.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• The female chooses to look around the house and when

she walks into the basement, the door is slammed shut
not being able to leave.
• ( I chose to add the door feature as it is conventional
aspect for a horror movie and a horror story. It also adds
diegetic sounds as the door being slammed shut will be a
natural sound and is something the audience would
expect to hear if they were there. This makes the scene
seem realistic.)
Middle – disequilibrium.
• When the female character decides to slowing walk down

that basement stairs she is soon greeted by the masked
antagonist that she has been regretting.
• The female character screams alerting the male character
but is caught buy the masked man being forced in to a
torture chair against her will.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• The male manages to get to the basement in desperate

aid to save his wife, but as the basement door is
completely shut he results to using the axe, that was
mentioned previously, and manages to get through the
door. However when he attempts to fight the antagonist
he is defeated and joins the female in another torture
chair.
Middle – disequilibrium.
• Both of the couple scream for help, however there is no-

one around as they are in an abandoned place with noone around. This means they are stuck with no way out.
Ending part one.
• The couple keep questioning the masked man as to who

he is and why he is doing what he is doing . They get no
answer, they can only hear the sounds of the masked
man sharpening his weapons. He then looks at his two
victims.
• They couple then look at each other knowing, what's
about to happen. The screen will then go black causing
the audience to only hear foots steps and the sound of
screams and stabbing sounds. This causes a dramatic
effect.
Ending part 2.
• The screen will then go back to normal showing the

masked man walking away, which will be an over the
shoulder shot from him victims showing no movement.
• The masked man will then look at the camera ( close up
shot) showing him about to remove his mask, where the
screen will go black again leaving the audience on the
edge of their seats adding suspense and keeping his
identity hidden.
• However they will hear his voice for the first time as he
will speak the slogan for the film. (This is yet to be made.)
