Mother Teresa of Calcutta was born in Albania and showed great religious devotion from a young age. She joined the Sisters of Loreto as a missionary in India, where she taught school. In 1937 she took her vows and was known as Mother Teresa from then on. She was known for her charity and lived her consecration to Jesus through service. In her later years she received several awards for her humanitarian work before passing away in Calcutta, the city she had served for decades.
