MACHU PICCHU

We are an agency that has been offering quality tours in Peru and, primarily, Cusco - Arequipa - Puno for
the last 29 years. We began our operations back in 1981 and over there years we have gained lots of
experience and developed expertise in our field. We take lots of pride in our service and our agency from the
top of the chain all the way down to the bottom, so we can assure you of a quality experience every time.

  DESCRIPTION:
This is the short version of the famous and stunning Inca Trail, for those who have less time
available, but do not want to miss out on this unique trek. We start at km 104 and walk all day
until approximately 06:00 pm when we arrive to Aguas Calientes, where we will be staying in a
hotel. The next day, very early, we will take the first bus up to Machupicchu to take part in our
  guided tour.

  ITINERARY:
  Day 1: Cusco - Wiñaywayna - Machupicchu
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the Cusco train
station. We will be departing in the direction of Km 104, where we will begin trekking. Shortly
after beginning, we will make a stop at the archaeological complex of Chachabamba (which is
located at 2250 masl). This is where they obtained the agricultural products which were later
taken to Machupicchu. Continuing the hike, we will eventually arrive to Wiñaywayna about 2
hours and half later. On the road we will enjoy some beautiful views of the Urubamba River and
will even have an opportunity to appreciate different kinds of exotic orchids indigenous of the
semi-tropical forest. In Wiñaywayna we stop and take some time to visit the important
archaeological remains. After lunch, we continue the walk towards Machupicchu, which
temporarily only be able to appreciate from a distance from Inti Punku (Sun Gate). We continue
by bus down to Aguas Calientes where we stay in a hotel for the night.

Total Distance: 13 km (8.08 miles)
  Approximate Hiking Time: 6-7 hours
  Maximum Altitude: 2.650 m (8.692 ft)
  Camp Altitude: 2,400 m (7.872 ft)

  Day 2: Machupicchu - Cusco
After an early breakfast, we will board the bus to Machupicchu (2400 masl), very early in the
morning so that we can enjoy the sunrise in this beautiful place before the arrival of other
tourists from Cusco. We will partake in a guided tour of the site for approximately 3 hours
followed by some free time for lunch. In the afternoon we board a bus to descend back down to
the town of Aguas Calientes where we will take the train back to Cusco. Transfer to hotel.
