- 3. Hazing “Hazing is any conduct whereby a military member or members, regardless of service or rank, without proper authority causes another military member or members, regardless of service or rank, to suffer or be exposed to any activity which is cruel, abusive, humiliating, oppressive, demeaning or harmful. Soliciting or coercing another to perpetrate any such activity is also considered hazing. “

Sometimes service members will be asked to execute physical “training” until the person, who initiated the hazing, is tired. Another example of hazing is the promotion rituals within each various branches. Although Hazing has never been authorized in the history of the united states military. In the Marine Corps, upon promotion, the marines will bare their newest insignias on their collars with the pointed side against the flesh and the protective cover removed. Member of the unit will line up and proceed to punch the marine in both collarbones driving the insignias into their flesh repeatedly. The marine is effect has been “pinned” and accepted by his peers into he next rank.

During service one gains an extraordinary level of trust with fellow service members. one must accept that they are putting their own life on the line in defense of the country and are required to kill the enemy at times.
