Students who are injured or ill and unable to participate in physical education class will be required to write essays to make up for missed class time. Each week of absence requires a 2-3 page essay on a topic from a provided list. Essays are graded on a 25 point scale and late papers will lose 5 points per day. Students must check in daily with their PE teacher and work on assignments in the library. Upon return to class, any missed runs will need to be made up.

While you are out of Physical Education for injury/illness you will be required to turn in an essay for
each week you are absent. Each essay will need to be 2-3 pages in length, 12 pt. font, double spaced
with 1” margins. The topic of the essay should be chosen by you based on the list provided below. If
you would like to do something that is not on the list please have it cleared with your PE Teacher before
you start it. Each essay will be graded on a 25 pt scale. Any runs that are missed will need to be made
up when you are healthy enough to return to physical education.
Each day, you are to check in with your PE teacher, you will then be sent to the library to work on your
assignments. If you finish early you are to work quietly in the library on assignments for other classes.
Each day you paper is late will result in the loss of five points.
