This document describes Lomond Homes' Dynamic Insulation system called the Lomond Breathing Wall. The wall acts as a heat exchanger, using escaping heat to pre-warm incoming ventilation air. A fan draws air through the wall's construction. Benefits include low heat loss, healthy indoor air, and familiar construction methods. Projects using this system include social housing in Fife.

Heat recovery and heat exchange
• The wall becomes a heat exchanger, using the
escaping heat energy to pre-warm incoming fresh
ventilation air (by up to 8°C).
• Negative pressure (e.g. from a single fan),
continuously draws air into the building, through the
external wall construction itself.
