Locomotor movements allow movement from one place to another and include walking, running, leaping, hopping, and jumping. Walking involves putting one foot in front of the other to move in a direction, while running is moving the legs faster than walking. Leaping takes off from one foot and lands on the other foot, and hopping jumps lightly on one foot and lands on the same foot again. Jumping quickly lifts the body off the ground by pushing up with the legs and feet.
