Local Government Administration (Amendment) Law

A LAW TOAMEND THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION LAW NO.7 OF 2011 EKITI STATE OF NIGERIA Commencement ( ) ENACTED BY THE EKITI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AS FOLLOWS: Amendment of Section 5 of the Principal Law Tenure 1. Section 5 of the Principal Law is hereby amended by deleting the word “three years” and inserting therefore “two years”. Amendment of Section 7(1) of the Principal Law Appointment 2. Section 7(1) of the Principal Law is hereby amended by of Secretary deleting the word “Chairman”, and insert therefore “Governor”. Deletion of Section 7(2) of the Principal Law Appointment 3. Section 7(2) of the Principal Law is hereby deleted and substituted of personal with a new Section 7(2) as follows:
- 4. Staff of Chairman 7(2) :The Governor may appoint such other personal staff as may be necessary to assist the Chairman in the Local Government Administration. Deletion of Section 10(1) of the Principal Law Appointment 4. Section 10(1) of the Principal Law is hereby deleted and of Supervisors substituted with a new Section 10(1) as follows: “10(1) There shall be appointed for each Local Government, Supervisors who shall be resident of the Local Government and not be less than three in number and not more than five”. Amendment of Section 12 of the Principal Law Removal of 5.Section 12 of the Principal Law is hereby amended by adding thereto supervisor immediately after the word “Chairman”, the phrase “subject to the from office approval of the Governor”.
- 5. Deletion of Section12(b) of the Principal Law 6. Section 12(b) of the Principal Law is hereby deleted. Renumbering of Section 12(c) of the Principal Law 7. Section 12(c) of the Principal Law is hereby renumbered as Section 12(b). Citation 8. This Law may be cited as Local Government Administration (Amendment) Law, 2011.
