Midsummer or Ligo is a Latvian celebration of the summer solstice held on June 23-24. During the celebration, people sing, dance around bonfires, and search meadows and fields while wearing flower wreaths. Traditions include women making wreaths for themselves and men, with men typically wearing oak leaf wreaths, as well as eating caraway cheese and bacon rolls and drinking beer to mark the summer solstice.
