This document announces a screening of films and videos from the Lesbian Herstory Archives in NYC and the Bildwechsel Archive in Hamburg, Germany. The screening will examine how lesbian political activist documentation and experimental media art overlap. It will include pieces from the archives that serve as important repositories of lesbian history through film, video, books and other materials. After the screening, there will be a short discussion about the value these archives hold for artists, curators, and queer political historians. One of the pieces to be screened is a 9-minute 1973 video by Barbara Jabaily and Tracy Fitz from the L.O.V.E. tapes collection showing images of a lesbian collective building a large paper mache dinosaur.
