It is difficult to pinpoint exact causes, but substances like tobacco, pollution, viruses, asbestos, and UV rays can increase cancer risk. Weekend to End Women’s Cancers 62 Mary Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 t. 0408 467 419 www.endcancer.org.au ABN: 14 786 237 480 9 March 2015 REFERNECE FOR CHALERM TUANTAB To whom it may concern, Chalerm Tuantab was employed at the Melbourne Weekend to End Women’s Cancers event as a podiatry volunteer, the event is a is an unforgettable, 2 day, 60km fully-supported walk and was held on Saturday, 28th - Sunday, 1st March 2015. The Weekend to End Women's Cancers benefiting the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is a Weekend to remember those lives we have lost to breast or gynaecologic cancer and a Weekend to celebrate the lives we are saving. Proceeds from the Weekend will provide vital funding to research and clinical care at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Australia's only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer, and home to Australia's largest cancer research group. Chalerm assisted in the treatment and management of a number of friction and pressure related injuries including blisters, callous and hot spots on the feet. Chalerm required to dress the friction related wounds by using appropriate dressings and off-loading padding. Chalerm also assisted in the treatment and prevention of Achilles tendonitis, ankle sprains and plantar fascia pain by using specific taping techniques. Footwear advice, lacing modifications and general foot health suggestions were also provided to participants. The position was voluntary, and Chalerm gave up his own time in order to gain vital experience in the Podiatric field. Charlerm’s understanding of podiatric care and treatment and wiliness to learn assisted him to take on this role with ease. Chalerm is an efficient, willing, trustworthy, well presented and reliable person who is able to work in a team but also take on individual responsibilities and succeed.
