This document provides an overview and introduction for a Bible study class called "Bible Starter Kit". It outlines what participants can expect to learn, including an introduction to the organization and timeline of the Bible. Participants are encouraged to use the study Bibles provided and given a first homework assignment to read the first three chapters of Genesis. The document establishes some guiding principles for the class and provides an overview of what will not be covered, such as theology. It aims to give participants confidence and tools for using and understanding the Bible on their own.
The Alternate Translation Bible Provides a Unique Perspective Sheila R. Vitale
Sheila Vitale founded Living Epistles Ministries and published the Alternate Translation Bible, a three-volume original translation of scripture that provides a unique perspective. Traditional Bible translations can be influenced by the beliefs of the translator, but the Alternate Translation Bible reflects years of study and a view of God as loving and forgiving rather than unforgiving, though unwilling to compromise moral law. It offers an alternative spiritually influenced translation instead of replacing traditional versions.
The document discusses applying Christian doctrines like sin, holiness, and church membership evenly to LGBTQ individuals. It argues that the church has historically been reluctant to do this but should treat all people as equally sinful and deserving of holiness. It also says the church should be a reconciled family and the defining mark of Christians is loving others unexpectedly as Jesus commanded.
The document discusses the second and third commandments. The second commandment demands respect for God's name and forbids taking God's name in vain or using it disrespectfully through blasphemy, profanity, or lying under oath. The third commandment calls Christians to honor the Sabbath by keeping Sunday holy through celebrating Mass and doing good works in remembrance of Jesus' resurrection. Both commandments require using respectful and positive language that honors God and respects others.
The document discusses the role of Christians as ambassadors for Christ. It states that as believers, we represent God and people will form conclusions about Him based on our actions and words. It emphasizes that we must have knowledge of what we believe, why we believe it, and how to address questions people have. We must also present truth wisely and develop virtuous character, avoiding extremes of being overly aggressive or passive. The goal is to gently and patiently represent Christ to others so that they may be reconciled to God.

This document discusses the controversy surrounding baptism and its meaning. It notes that baptism has been a controversial act since early Christianity due to it being a public statement of faith. While baptism is an important step in discipleship, it does not alone make one a disciple as true discipleship requires giving up oneself to one's teacher. The document argues that Jesus reserved baptism as a privilege for his disciples, so that whenever one baptizes today they do so as a representative of Jesus Christ.
This is a presentation I gave to the adult Sunday School class at Bible Baptist Church in Puyallup. It is far different than most as it is not so much a Bible study as an apologetic concerning the Didache and how to handle those who claim it teaches different things about Christ than the Bible does.

This is the presentation for the adult Sunday school lesson which will be taught at Bible Baptist Church in Puyallup, WA December 21, 2014.
The passage is Song of Solomon 1:8-15. The scene has the Shulamite and the Shepherd on some grassy hills. Her heart is to know him better. He insists that such relationship is only possible after commitment. The relationship continues to grow.
This document discusses real spiritual growth. It states that spiritual growth happens purposefully, thoughtfully and mindfully. It also happens intelligently by getting to know Jesus well enough to discern what is and isn't like Christ. True spiritual growth takes after Christ by exchanging one's own culture for a Christian culture rather than just embracing diversity. Spiritual growth is also Christ-centered and bears the marks of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, and charity. It rules the heart with God's peace despite life's circumstances.
Some believers went on to follow others like Apollos and disciples in Ephesus who taught about Jesus. Others went back to friends and family for solace rather than leading them to follow Christ when Bible teachings were offensive. Still others went back to lives in the world, like Demas who unexpectedly turned away despite being a friend and companion to Paul.

God loves believers and chose them for salvation before the creation of the world. Through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, God sets believers apart for himself. God calls people to salvation through the preaching of the gospel. Those who are called and believe will obtain glory in heaven with Jesus Christ for all eternity.

The document discusses the concept of meekness. It defines meekness as balance between excessive anger and having no anger at all. It provides examples of meekness in historical figures like Moses and Jesus Christ. Moses prayed for the nation of Israel when they accused him and remained faithful to them for 40 years. Jesus ate with sinners, paid taxes he didn't owe, and prayed for forgiveness of those who crucified him. The document states that meekness is having one's flesh bridled through faith in Jesus Christ and his gospel work. It closes by referencing looking forward to a new heaven and new earth according to God's promise.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

love.

brother and as beloved but in this case
he says so.
