The Role of ICT
in Recent History
EDSA (People Power
Revolution)
* During a radio broadcast of
Radyo Veritas in 1986,
Cardinal Sin encouraged the
Filipinos to help end the
regime of then president
Ferdinand Marcos.
* A major protest took pace
along EDSA from February
22-25, 1986 – involving two
million Filipinos from 8

* EDSA Dos happened
during January 17–21,
2001. It fueled when
eleven prosecutors
walked out during the
impeachment of then

Digital Citizenship
What is Digital Citizenship?
 A digital citizen is a person using information
technology in order to engage in society, politics,
education, and government.
 Digital citizenship is how we should act when we are
using digital tools, interacting with others online, and
what should be taught to help the next generation be
better stewards of this technology.

What is Change.org?
 Change.org is dubbed as the “world’s platform for change”
where anyone from the online community can create a
petition and ask others to sign it.
 During the past times, petitions are only done through
signing a paper, usually done by a group asking for
signatures via travel.
 Change.org gives access to more people by allowing the
online community to affix their digital signatures on a 16
