1. Raul Sasar si Lacul Firiza Sasar river and Firiza Lake Realizat de MATEI
2. Legend River Sasar In 1241 (during the Tartar invasion),Baia Mare city, was surrounded by a high wall of stone and a broad deep ditch full of water. The Mongol commander, Subugetaj- overcame the region in three battles, burning houses and slaughtering all those found in the path. Most of the miners have died fighting the Tatars from Sajó - but one remains: named Jonathan - he returns back home to Baia Mare, and he took the lead mobilizing a band of soldiers made up of men and women. Especially women deplored the calamity made by Subugetaj around town, but full-hearted they started to assault the city, surrounding it on all sides. While the women watches with horror the calamity proportions, the legend says that suddenly appeared in front them the most beautiful girl in the region - Agatha – the diggers Fairy, who became the fiancee of Jonathan. After a short speech of encouragement, he started, with all the cohort, to "Zárhoz" (Săsar).
3. Ahead of women, the beautiful miners Fairy took seriously the role of commander.Reaching the fen,she opened the lock and the water started to stream powerfully until all the valley filled up and many Mongolian found their death. The women, well handled by Agatha ,tried to attack the Mongol army, but they were already running like hell.A big defeat suffered the Mongols!. In front of women’s eyes lays the bodies, one by one like mountain stones, horses without riders burn up the road. At one point, Agatha was throwing herself in a horseback -left without rider – and ahead of the crowd she stepped into the city. They say that from here it comes the name of the river that flows through Baia Mare “the women river”,or after the latin name “Rivulus Dominarum”- the ladies river
